Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Hartshill Academy

A very warm welcome to Hartshill Academy. We are very proud of our school and hope you enjoy learning more about the wonderful opportunities, learning and family at Hartshill Academy.

At Hartshill Academy we have high expectations of ourselves. We practice kindness and gratitude every day. Our school HART values of Heart, Ambition, Respect and Tenacity underpin everything we do. We take time to reflect on our HART values and how we can develop each day to ensure we are always challenging ourselves to be even better today than yesterday. We strive to practice perfect in everything we do. We know that our daily practices become our habits, our habits become our character and our character is who we are.

We support all pupils to develop a good knowledge and understanding of careers education. We offer opportunities to visit universities and meet employers. We want all pupils to have access to the information they need to ensure they can make informed decisions about their futures. We want all pupils to be able to leave Hartshill Academy prepared and ready to take on their next challenge. We do this through the knowledge they are taught and the opportunities they have to access to in our careers programme and through our wide range of extra-curricular clubs and trips.

We have a knowledge rich, five year curriculum. Our staff support and challenge each other with regular subject development and support from across the Midland Academies Trust. We support all pupils to access and make excellent progress through high quality teaching in all lessons. We provide extra support to those pupils who need it to ensure all of our pupils can access the learning and make excellent progress. We have an excellent pastoral system who work closely with our families to ensure all pupils are supported so they can arrive to lessons ready to learn and make the most of the opportunities available to them each day.

Parental involvement in school is a key to every child’s success. Our parents collaborate with the school through parent voice, parents evenings, celebration events, shows, sports events and our pastoral support. All of these are important opportunities for us to support every child.

This is a very exciting time for Hartshill Academy as we prepare for the move to our new building. We are very fortunate to be one of the 50 schools chosen nationally as part of this project and we are all looking forward to the new opportunities this will bring.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further information about the school or if you would like to visit us and see us 'in action'.
